Resumen

El artí­culo recoge los avances y hallazgos relacio-nados con el proceso de envejecimiento normal y patológico, haciendo énfasis en el aspecto individual de los cambios que presenta el cerebro durante su deterioro. Dichos cambios se dan a nivel neurocog-nitivo, estructural, neuroquí­mico, con influencia en el contexto y la cultura.
